The II class malocclusion orthopaedic and also the not extractive
nor surgical treatments with fxed appliance are usually affected by a
wide patients collaboration or elastics phase. This normally requires
a deep involvement of the patient that must cooperate with
orthodontist to achieve the goal. If the patient’s collaboration is not
reliable the treatment results could be partial and unsuccessful.
Nowadays both young and adult patients have a very active and
stressful lifestyle and this afects the therapy timing and results due
to the collaboration decrease. We’ve to consider that today there’s
the chance to achieve treatment objectives with no compliance
systems that allow to correct the class II without patient’s work and
so reducing the therapy time and the stress for both doctors and
patients. The advantages and disadvantages of the no compliance
compared with compliance tools will be examined during the
lecture.
Hands-on part includes the best tips how to engage and how to
activate and reactivate PowerScope as well as PowerBar
measurement and bonding.

Dr. Manzo graduated cum laude in Dentistry (DDS) in 1997. He completed his post-graduation in Orthodontics and Gnathology in 2004, and in 2007 he received a PhD in Oral Science at University of Naples “Federico II”, where he has been Visiting Professor from 2008 to 2016.

He is Visiting Professor of the Orthodontic School of Ferrara and Trieste University.

He was AIDOR President in 2020.

Dr Manzo received the excellence certification by the Italian Board of Orthodontics (I.B.O.) in 2007, by the

European Board of Orthodontics (E.B.O.) in 2011 and by the European Board of Lingual Orthodontics (E.B.L.O.) in 2014. He is on-going for the Angle Society of Europe pathway.
